Organic Dandelion Production Flowchart
We begin preparing the land two years in advance by enriching our soil with various forms of marine, animal and/or plant derived sources of nutrients
Whenever possible, we source our dandelion seed from local suppliers
We plant our dandelions in May and June, after the last frost, and just as the spring rains are moistening the Island soil
We promote the best growth of our dandelions by controlling weeds through tillage
Dandelion is a perennial crop, and we harvest our dandelion plants in the second fall after planting. The dandelion roots are separated from the rest of the plant, washed, dried, and roasted before being used to make dandelion coffee. Our harvesting, cleaning and drying machinery is cleaned thoroughly before the harvest to guarantee that it meets the organic standards
Our dandelion roots are loaded into containers and shipped to Japan where they are used to make delicious dandelion coffee
